2010 Director's Letter

January, 2010

Dear Friends,

As we approach our 51st summer season, we stay true to providing our campers with a quality, fun-filled camp experience at a great value. Our rates, as always, include snacks, a fresh lunch prepared daily, door-to-door transportation, and, of course, our quality camp programs.

High Meadow Day Camp is accredited by the American Camping Association (ACA) and offers:

  • Excellent staff members who create a sense of community
  • 100 acres of beautiful field and woods to promote an active summer
  • Programs such as American Red Cross swim instruction, a wide variety of sports, a challenging climbing wall and low ropes course, archery and riflery instruction, arts and crafts to meet all artistic interests, music, dance, and even cooking
  • Convenient bus transportation, door-to-door in most surrounding communities, as well as central bus stops at many large businesses
  • Nutritious, child-friendly lunches and snacks served daily
  • Parents’ Days and other special themed days
  • Uniformed security guards at our entrance to check visitors in and out
  • A registered nurse on site at all times during camp hours

Our campers range in age from 4 to 13 years, and our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is for 14 and 15 year-olds. The 2010 camp season is from June 28 through August 20. Our Early Bird Registration is available to anyone registering and paying the deposit by March 31, and our sibling discount is 5% for the second child in a family and 10% for each additional child in a family. Campers must be enrolled for at least four weeks, but the weeks do not need to be consecutive. All camp registration forms are available for download on our website.

High Meadow’s annual Open House will be on Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 1 to 5 PM. Refreshments will be served, and our staff will give tours of the camp and answer questions about programs.

I welcome any and all questions about the camp so please don’t hesitate to contact me. Tours may also be arranged by appointment. I can be reached by e-mail at director@highmeadowdaycamp.com or by phone at the camp office – 860-653-9325.

Sincerely,

Chuck Washer, Director
