Week 3

7/20/2010 by mikec

Week 3 finally brought some relief…in the form of snow! Bob Maxon, of Channel 30 News, predicted freezing temperatures and snow at High Meadow on Friday morning. Campers enjoyed activities including sledding, ice block melting, ice fishing for prizes, ice hockey and more. A news crew from NBC visited HMDC and aired some footage showing our youngest campers on sleds. This concluded our exciting Winter Carnival festivities.
Campers, CIT’s and counselors have been scurrying to keep up with the ever changing schedules as we try to cram in as much fun as possible. Favorites this week included the recently added Zip-line, Cooking (French Crepes were on the menu), Kickball, Climbing Wall, and preparations for next week’s Music and Drama presentation.
Looking ahead to week 4, our camp theme will be American Idol. Guest judges will bring some humor to the events including the Music and Drama presentation on Wednesday. We are excited about Late Nite on Tuesday, July 20, for 5th graders and higher. Later in the week will be Parents’ Day, slated for Thursday, July 22, with the rain date of Friday. This is a favorite event where each camper can share his/her daily camp experience with Mom and Dad. We look forward to seeing you all.
Mark your calendars now...In lieu of Parents’ Day during the second session, we have a fun Family Night planned during week 7. More information will be coming.
